Instantly Containerize .MSI Apps with AI Packaging in Cloudpager
At Microsoft Ignite in San Francisco in November, we provided a technical preview of enhancements to Cloudpager’s AI Packaging feature. For those unfamiliar, Cloudpager provides customers with a dedicated AI to package applications into Cloudpaging application containers. When it first launched, there were a select group of applications from WinGet that Cloudpager could package; a feature that still exists within the platform today.
Today, I’m excited to share Cloudpager customers can now bring their own .msi applications to the platform for our AI to containerize. This feature is now available and rolling out to our customers. This blog dives into the how to use this new capability, including a video walkthrough on how to leverage AI Packaging to containerize your .msi installers within the Applications tab.
Select Provide Installer to Package Your .MSI Apps with AI
The latest Cloudpager update expands its AI Packaging capabilities to include your own .msi installers. All you have to do is navigate to Cloudpager’s Application tab and select Provide Installer.
Upon selection, you’ll be prompted to provide an .msi installer for Cloudpager’s AI to package. This exponentially expands the number of applications you can leverage AI Packaging for, going beyond applications that are available in WinGet. This means you can leverage AI Packaging for in-house developed applications and software that are only available behind vendor login portals.
This enhancement also enables Administrators to input customer installer arguments. If an application permits enabling or disabling entire MSI features, disabling desktop shortcuts etc. this can be passed in the Installer Arguments field as seen in the above screenshot and AI will incorporate this choice into its process. Cloudpager will still analyze the application you provide and determine how to optimally package the application into the Cloudpaging application container format on your behalf but will respect your installer arguments inputted.
Demonstration of AI Packaging for .MSI Applications in Cloudpager
Check out the video below to see how easy it is to containerize your .msi applications with AI Packaging. You will see that the process is as simple as dragging and dropping an MSI onto the Windows, inputting a little application information, setting your installer arguments and proceeding to publish. AI does the heavy lifting for you.
Conclusion
Since its inception, we’ve been meticulously training Cloudpager’s AI on more and more applications. With the introduction of .msi packaging to the hundreds of applications in the existing WinGet repository, AI Packaging is rapidly scaling out to meet the needs of enterprise IT teams.
